چکیده
Abstract Background The use of plant-based formulations is an easy and economical method to control insect pests. objectives the present study were evaluate ovicidal larvicidal potential ethanolic leaf extracts four plants, Cyathocline purpurea , Blumea lacera Neanotis lancifolia montholonii their effects on gut histology Aedes aegypti (Diptera: Culicidae) larvae. We identified phytochemicals in these plants by LC-MS analysis. eggs larvae A. exposed concentrations (0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 mg/mL) crude ethanol for different time durations. observed egg hatching 48 h, mortality, 3rd instar after 24, 48, 72 h treatments. Results analysis revealed presence various active compounds such as alkaloids, tannins, saponins, flavonoids all plants. showed activity. C. highest activity (LC 50 at = 0.088 followed B. 0.758 while N. did not show significant All plant affected morphology concentration treatment duration-dependent manner. used have properties Conclusion These results suggest that has against can be further evaluated application purposes.

Larvicidal Activity of Some Saponin Containing Plants against the Dengue Vector Aedes Aegypti
The crude extracts of fruits of Sapindus mukorossi, leaves of Cestrum nocturnm, Cestrum diurnum, and Asclepias curassavica were tested under laboratory conditions against Aedes aegypti, a vector of dengue and chikungunya, for their larvicidal properties. Bioassay experiments carried out with crude alcoholic extracts of Sapindus mukorossi, Cestrum nocturnm, Cestrum diurnum, Asclepias curassavica...
متن کاملScreening of some weeds for larvicidal activity against Aedes albopictus, a vector of dengue and chikungunya.
BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES Screening of crude extracts of plants facilitates the establishment of highly effective extract for mosquito control. This practice should be preferred before in depth study of plant extracts rather than spending much efforts and energy in detailed examinations for practically ineffective extracts. In this study, leaf powders of four weed plants were used for the quick s...
متن کاملLarvicidal efficacy of leaf extracts of Heliotropium Indicum and Mukia maderaspatana against the dengue fever mosquito vector Aedes aegypti
Aedes aegypti is a vector of dengue fever, which is a public health problem in the world. During epidemics, emphasis is laid on the use of insecticides for controlling mosquitoes. The application of easily degradable plant compounds is considered to be one of the safest methods to control insect pests and vectors as an alternative to synthetic pesticides. A study was made to monitor the effect ...
متن کاملLarvicidal activity of Agave sisalana against Aedes aegypti mosquito, the dengue vector
Background Dengue is a viral systemic disease caused by an arboviral of Flaviviridae family, affecting about a 700 thousand cases per year in Brazil. It is endemic in tropical regions such as Southeast Asia, South Pacific, East Africa, Caribbean and Latin America. The disease is transmitted by Aedes aegypti (Linnaeus, 1762), a mosquito that is the main target for the disease control through str...
متن کاملEffects of hecogenin on Larvicidal activity against Aedes aegypti mosquito, the dengue vector
Background Dengue is a viral disease, caused by the dengue virus, a Flaviviridae family virus. Dengue is transmitted by several species of mosquito within the genus Aedes, principally A. aegypti. The dengue control is based on the mosquito combat, most of time through chemical insecticides. Hecogenin is a sapogenin present in the leaves of species from the Agave genus, with a wide spectrum of r...
